In Loving Memory
December 14, 1930 – December 1, 2018

Wallace Eugene “Gene” Carr, age 87, departed from this life Saturday, December 1, 2018 in Fairhope, AL. He was born in Montgomery, AL and was a resident of Fairhope, AL since 1974.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Carol S. Carr; parents, Daniel Homer Carr and Jewel Crosson Carr; one brother, Robert Donald Carr; two sisters, Betty Rollins and Patricia Skinner. He is survived by one daughter, Kim (Robert) Northan of Fairhope, AL; and three step children, Kelly McKibbon of New Orleans, LA, Robert (Sheila) McKibbon of Daphne, AL, and Karen (Gary) Baggett of Chelsea, AL; eight grandchildren, Robert (Sarah) Northan, Baylor Northan, Caleb Northan, Hope (Aaron) Quinn, Hunter Davenport, Haley Farmer, Noah Baggett, and Brooklyn McKibbon; eight great grandchildren, Reid Northan, Fisher Northan, Beckham Quinn, Rosie Quinn, Preston Northan, Blayn Northan, Reagan Northan, and Lucy Northan; nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

Gene served in the United Airforce and was a member of the Airforce Band. He played multiple instruments and was Drum Major for the Airforce Marching Band. After serving 14 years in the Airforce, Gene served as Minister of Music and Youth at multiple churches across the south east throughout his adult life; most recently Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church, Kingswood United Methodist Church, Fairhope United Methodist Church, among others. He was also previously a member of the Baldwin Pops Band,

A celebration of Gene’s life will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church, 8717 Fairhope Avenue in Fairhope, AL.

    I love you ” Daddy Gene”. You were such a wonderful stepfather to me and you will be missed dearly. I know your sitting beside my Mama now and singing with all the angels. I love you..

    Gene was a wonderful man who loved music. I had the pleasure of being a member of the choir when he led at Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church. He will truly be missed. Prayers for Kim and the family.
