Rhonda Gardner Matthews, a native of Winnsboro, SC and a resident of Mobile, AL, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the age of 60.

Rhonda was a graduate of Richard Winn Academy and attended Francis Marion College.  She worked as a manager for several grocery stores.  Rhonda loved her family and enjoyed getting to spend time with her grandchildren any chance she got.

Rhonda is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Gardner, Sr. and her brother, Raymond Gardner, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Clayton Matthews and his wife, Katelyn and Eden Matthews and her husband, Brandon; her grandchildren, Brooklyn, Cohen, Madilynn, Paisley, McKenzie and Madisyn; her mother, Paulette Gardner; her brother, Paul Gardner; along with other family members and friends.

Rhonda was very loved by her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her. 

A celebration of life will be held for her in the coming months.
